agreed on many points. the cinematography was incredible and the shoot out in the log cabin bar was intense, not to add we are eye to eye on that final scene where Depp subtly and clearly convays a discomforted amusement with seeing him self on the big screen. also Mann deserves props for showing us the emerging and conflicting federal agencies and crime sydicates struggles to deal with new technologies and strategies for dominance/survival in a very nuanced, but non-pompous way. my biggest trouble with the film is i never really felt the tension between Dillinger and Purvis was articulated through scenes or the acting. it all in a way just rolled along into the final climax. overall you are correct good, not great film
